Product Details

Our luxuriously soft beach towels are made from brushed microfiber with a 100% cotton back for extra absorption.   The top of the towel has the image printed on it, and the back is white cotton.   Our beach towels are available in two different sizes: beach towel (32" x 64") and beach sheet (37" x 74").

Don't let the fancy name confuse you... a beach sheet is just a large beach towel.

Artist's Description

I don’t know why, but it amuses me that man simply goes about his business in the desert. Somehow, the usual trope of dominating the environment until it crumbles beneath him is reversed. His activities, his industry, seem overpowered by the immensity of the Mojave, my mundane frame of reference. Here we see a tank, installed for what might be a perfectly good reason. But it struck me as kind of lonely just sitting outside by itself in the middle of expanding sand and unrelenting sun.

About Carl Wilkerson

Carl Wilkerson

Having lived in the Southwest for the past 10 years, Carl Wilkerson has become one of its most thoughtful observers. Among his creative, philosophical and intellectual pursuits, photography has become central. "A camera produces both an object, the photograph, and a record of the subjective," Wilkerson observes. "There are so many things I can explain only through a picture. Words are not always enough." His works include: ethnography, landscapes and cityscapes, models and portraits (of both human and furry variety). He generally simply captures what interests him in the moment, but he is available for commissions.
